I am ready to meet with a Therapist, how do I get started?

We are glad that you found us and we look forward to supporting your wellness journey. Follow these steps to get started:

  2. Schedule your FREE 15-minuste telephone consultation with an available Therapist here.
  3. Begin your therapy journey by continuing with therapy sessions or choosing to match with another therapist, the choice is yours.

What can I expect during the initial consultation?

The initial consultation is an opportunity to ask your therapist any questions you have about how they can help you, their expertise and more to determine if it is the right fit for you. You will have the chance to ask your therapist questions about how they work, their approaches to therapy and ensure that their availability fits with your needs.

Do you work with children and youth?

Yes. We support children and youth of all ages. We also provide professional support to parents and caregivers to better understand their children’s needs through parent coaching and family therapy sessions.

What should I do if I am experiencing a crisis?

If you are in crisis please call 911 or visit the nearest Emergency Room.

Crisis resources: Toronto Distress Line (416-408-4357) or Canada Suicide Prevention Service (1-833-456-4566) or Kids Help Phone (1-800-668-6868).

How are services offered during this time?

Currently our Therapy services are offered virtually through our secure online video platform and by telephone. You may choose the format that best works for you for each session.

Do I need a referral to see a therapist?

No. We do not require any formal referral in order to work with us. We welcome everyone who requires assistance in reaching their wellness goals to schedule a consultation.

How long does therapy last?

Each therapy sessions lasts 50- minutes. The overall length of therapy however, depends on your personal therapeutic goals and needs. On average, you can expect to see a therapists for at least 6-8 sessions to experience considerable benefits and changes, however therapy is not one size fits all and each individual is different, your therapist will support you in developing a plan to meet your needs. 

Do you offer direct billing to insurance providers?

Our clinic does not provide direct billing to your insurance provider.  After your appointment, you will receive an email with your invoice. This invoice can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement where applicable. Our therapy services are covered by most extended benefit insurance plans, however please be sure check your benefits plan to see which specific designation and/or categories of providers (such as: Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist). 

Do you offer reduced cost therapy options?
Yes. If finances are a concern, we would be happy to chat with you about our reduced cost therapy program. We offer a reduced cost therapy program based on need for those with limited financial means and those without insurance coverage. Please reach out to us to learn more about our current availability for our reduced cost therapy program.
How can I pay for my therapy session?

Please note as per our payment policy, payment for your session is due prior to the start of your session. We accept payment via credit card (including Visa debit). Our online client portal which allows you to book appointments can also process credit card payments manually or automatically for your convenience. If there is a preferred payment method that is not listed please reach out and we can do our best to accommodate.

 

Please note that our services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). 

 

As of 2012, Psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Social Worker are recognized as an income tax deductible medical expense by Revenue Canada.

How can I complete my client profile and consent forms?

When booking your initial consultation through our client portal you will be prompted to create your client profile. Following your initial consultation session, your Therapist will send you an email prompt to complete your intake and consent forms to get started with therapy.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your appointment is a block of time that has been reserved for you. Therefore, we have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all sessions scheduled. Any sessions cancelled, changed or missed with less than 48-hours notice will incur a charge of the full session fee. If you need to cancel or re-schedule your appointment, please contact us 48-hours prior to your scheduled session by telephone or email.
